IMO if gov't was going to lower the ethanol mandate they would do it before the election. Ethanol contributes to the bottom line of a very small % of the voters so there would not be much of a backlash from voters to lowering the mandate. On the other hand everyone eats. If food prices start going up (and we all know food prices go up more then the cost of foodstuffs go up) it would be a popular thing to lower the mandate so ALL elected folks can say they tried to keep food prices in check but it is the evil food processors that are out to get you. Just my thinking. |
