East Central South Dakota
If you have insurance and prices stay high in November to establish a new higher harvest crop insurance price, how do you get too hurt financially ? 130 bushels x 4.60= $598/acre
97 bushels (crop insurance guarantee/75%) x 7.00= $679/acre

The risk is if the crop insurance program can be fully funded with all the indemnity claims. Some huge payouts this year ! !

I quess i would argue just the opposite. If they do not tinker with crop insurance and we establish a high February price for corn, people will plant the crap out of corn because of the high/acre guarantee.
