Havent heard from you lately. Did you ever get any type of strategy in place to try and weather these high corn prices?? I would be willing to bet that your animals will be hungry long before corn is five bucks again.

I still say you should sell the cows, sell the corn, then go on a nice little vacation for about 6 months, and then when prices are in the toliet buy yourself some nice heifers and start all over. My uncle that sells heifers has been having trouble get 1200 for some really nice animals. Meanwhile big old cows have been bringing nice checks at the slaughter house.

I know of a local dairy farm (150 cows) that is in the process of going under right now. You used drive down the road in my area and everyone milked. Now I can go twenty miles and not find a single one. Good luck.
