Subject: Questions after traveling Kansas

So Illinois
Took a trip to Denver and back and have a couple questions.
1. Why is there so much fallow ground, especially corn stalks from last year, from around Colby to Limon?
2. Did all the ground that is now in corn used to be wheat...say 5-6 years ago?
3. A lot of the pivots with corn had wheat in the corners. Is this all continuous corn ?
4. Saw a couple fields of wheat being worked. Is most ground worked to reseed or is it notilled.

Did see some good looking crops west of topeka for quite a ways. The further west you went it seemed to go down hill without a pivot.
