Corn got off to a great start, but was short on moisture from the beginning. I know the lack of moisture was not good for the crop, but the heat over the last 3 weeks just did it in. I am convinced that we could have handled the dry, but not dry + heat. Corn is a total loss here. Adjuster said he has not seen any corn in Rutheford County that is worth harvesting. I have 130 acres I had to replant on May 15th and it has not started tasseling yet. Hoping that is might be worth running a combine thru.
I have no understanding why the beans and cotton are even alive, but they are. If I could get some rain on them, I think it might make something, but not sure. | |
