Subject: RE: Crop insurance again.

I have a hard time figuring out why growers won't invest in protection like this. I believe ours cost $12.00 for $550 guaranteed coverage. It will take approximately $600 per acre to put my crop in so the Premium is less than 2% of my total expenses. I can afford that. I am young also and I don't believe my bankers will allow me to go without it and I know I won't even if they do not require it. Last year we raised 33 bushel corn over 1700 acres. I would not be in business this year without insurance. Looks like we may be headed in the same direction again this year.
