| We have a 1200 square ft ranch house with a basement and have one window unit that will keep it all at 70..............I think what most people don't understand is you can turn it off and on, we start it in late spring and keep the house shut up for the most part all summer, even at night. My wife doesn't like pollen, is part of the reason too. Even so, we still don't have a very big rise on our electric bill in the summer months. Ours is a GE with a temp setting, once it cools below the temp by 2 degrees it shuts off..............When it rises above the set temp it turns on. On cooler days it doesn't run much because of it. | |
