Subject: Re: 1590 drill and needham wheels

central - east central Minnesota -

DLM Farm - 7/3/2012 19:22 I am referring to the firming wheel. I thought maybe I had too much pressure on the seed and it was having trouble getting out of the bottom of the trench when conditions were a bit tacky. Thanks for the replies.

I set up half my JD 750 drill last season with the V8 firming wheels - you could see a difference with emergence between the V8's and JD's firming wheels.
I bought 12 more this spring, for the others I didn't do last spring. They really work well.
I doubt it could put too much pressure on the bean seed, causing issues with emergence  . . . . my opinion ~
