Subject: Seed corn male row question

The Far East...of Nebraska.
I talked to a guy yesterday who was about to go through the male rows of seed corn fields and make silage. I know it depends on the seed company, but what else do guys do in the destroyed rows? I've heard of turnips. Since its so early this year could you do soybeans or would the lack of light hurt it? The rows maybe are too narrow? Just brainstorming.
