Subject: RE: Japanese Beetles In Corn

I would not worry about the beetles eating the pollen. There is plenty of pollen out there to get the job done. . Generally the majority of the feeding will happen around the edges. To get a more accurate feel for the feeding walk into the field and check it there. Three things are needed for a spraying app
1) there are 3 or more beetles per ear,
2)silks have been clipped to less than1/2" inch, AND
3)pollination is less than 50% complete
