WI
We worked alot of old stand sod this spring and have some more to do for next year. What we have found is the old plow is the best way to go. We chisel plowed about 10 acres and will never do it again, just didn't work up well at all. I would spray it off with a full rate of round up and 2-4-d and plow it under this fall then go by your soil tests and work your fertilizer in when spring comes. If it needs lime or potash I would apply those this fall as well.
