| Went back and re-read the O.P. There are three hydraulic pumps stacked, the remotes and steering and transmission using separate pumps. If the tranny is acting up, I would also check the suction filters. The remotes, like so many are four position, the forward most is float. Most people will use the back, or raise position to avoid being next the the float setting. The detent ball should be able to be set to hold, but often will be tied. The remote used for the booms, and multiplier should not be locked, but the solenoid be activated when needed, and then the valve shifted. This will also reduce the electrical load. If the engine is pulling down when a valve is moved, that indicates that the pump is going to full stroke and the flow deadheaded. | |
