Subject: RE: Non-Hardi controller on Hardi Sprayer

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Due to the Hardi plumbing this is a bit more difficult than most sprayers. Raven makes a modified 440 that can work in many Hardi situations. I believe Ag Leader's Liquid Direct Command may also address this situation also.

Part of the problem deals with the Positive displacement pump setup in that the excess flow needs to be returned to the tank. Due to the Hardi plumbing, in many cases it is difficult to get a flowmeter installed that only measures the spray getting to the ground.

The Raven trick is to have the flowmeter measure all the flow that potentially could get to the booms and mathematically reduce this flow to predict the amount actually getting to the ground. This reduction is necessary when some of the boom sections are ON and others OFF. Since the total flow is still passing through the flowmeter (but part of it returned to the tank), the flow reported by the flowmeter is incorrect.
