| It was a outside knife four rows no nitrogen. What I was saying with the dryness and nitrogen is that this year the corn responded very slowly to side dress application. Corn that had nitrogen done preplant was much more even and green. I attributed it to the lack of rainfall and or root growth. I did a few acres with a plugged knife and it showed for weeks. Seems like a normal wetter year and something like that happens the corn finds the nitrogen quicker because rain helps move the nitrogen thru the soil profile. In that field it probably won't make much difference because it now looks like most of the corn from so. IL, IN does. I'm afraid it and most other corn on lighter soils will be toast by the end of next week.
