Subject: RE: farm wealth

East central Iowa

Well we don't live too poor but we sure don't live rich.  No motorcycle, no skidoo, no snowmobile, no boat, no camper, all vehicles are 16 years old and machinery is older than that.  House is from the 1800's but then the dirt is thousands of years if not millions of years old.

My computer is 5 years old but we do have a new TV.

Our "vacation" is a mad dash of 650 to 740 miles each day across the country to see our kids for 2 days once a year.

We don't have central air but we do have a couple of window air conditioners and ceiling fans in each room.

Neither of us is going hungry and we do have health insurance.

My understanding is the kids will bulldoze the house and sell the farm when we're gone.  If we don't burn up our assets for a nursing home they should be getting a pretty good chunk of money.
