Subject: Muscle car machinery

Went to the local drag strip this weekend to watch amatuer night. All I can say is that Chevy and Dodge are nothing but good sounding grocery getters. The Boss 302 Mustang literally kicked the living daylights out of nearly everything there. The only thing to beat it was a Mustang GT500 and the only thing to beat that was one of the new 660hp GT500's (awsome sounding car, it is a NASCAR ;-). That thing was doing mid 11 second 1/4 miles between 124-129 mph.

The Camaro and Challengers sound really good, but that's it. They were all 2-3 seconds behind the Mustangs everytime and that includes the tricked out ones (that's what happens when you share our chassis with sedans). One Viper took out one of the Mustangs and a ZO6 Vette came close. If you think you can go up against one of these new Mustangs, you better have something of either German or Italian heritage because you won't have a chance.

What was funny, evey single tricked out and blown, supercharged, carburated vintage muccscle car (and there were some high dollar ones) couldn't even compete against the modern muscle cars with supercharged tuned-port injection. But, every last one of them sounded darn good, especially the V10 Vipers. They just sound evil wicked! The new 660hp GT500 Mustang just sounds downright dangerous.
