You get what you pay for on these tractors. The 6420 is a nice and confortable tractor - a typical up-scaled Deere tractor. The 6D series is a very basic tractor to compete with the value-minded customers. It is a very decent tractor, but basically has cables and levers instead of sensors and switches. However, the wet clutch and Power-Reverser are nice additions. The open center hydraulics and stripped down cab is probably the negative side. Paint on the castings is not the typical Deere quality and it seem our friends south of the border have a hard time keeping the cab upholstry clean while assembly. Lastly, if you plan on installing a loader with grapple, be sure NOT to order the tractor with the loader ready kit installed at the factory. It is only available as a 2-function joystick, and to upgrade to the 3-function (for grapple), you have to throw everything away and start over. You cannot simply upgrade the 2-function valve up to a 3-function valve. My $.02
