southern MN | Late 1970's into early 1980's was a bit of a 'special' time in ag, I do believe things are a little bit better for dealers at this time.
Seems most want to sell new stuff for the big profits, and not waste time on the used items, just sluff them off to jockeys.
In the 1980's a relative in the business was saying he had a fella wanted tobe salesman for him, work on 20%. Relative told him you got to try for 30%, and the salesman couldn't make it on that.
Not doubting your words for where & when you are, but think there's a lot more markup in some areas at this point in time.....
