Do the red planters still use the firming point dragging in the dirt like the 800's did? We tried the 800's years ago and couldn't get them to plant in mellow black dirt. The firming point would start pushing dirt and it would wedge up between the blades. I've thought they may work better now that we are stale seedbed but I hate to spend the money just to find out it won't work. I always liked the narrow trench of the red planter, it was easier to close.
