Correct. You have supply and demand driven prices coupled with speculation which has made for wild rides since the CBOT was started. It was worse before this auction of commodities was started and led to the Great Depression. Overall I think we have a good system.

I wonder how the merger of CBOT and CME have affected this and how the merger is working?
