I got lucky and found a bunch of old wire ones in the garage attic. So I use those for my tomatoes. I've used cattle panels as well, or old fence netting. If you want to use PVC, just get the CPVC, it's cheaper, and the fittings are cheaper too. I'd just get a bunch of T connectors and make a ladder like piece or two for each of the plants.
