I could be wrong, but I think the platform spans a stairway and there's just one ladder sitting on the platform.  But still........................there isn't enough money to get me to paint like that.   The last time our stair hall was painted (going to the basement) our sons' friend who is 6'7" did it for me........love that boy!!
