Ontario, Canada
It's more of a personal preference but I can't stand the salt pools. I find every salt water pool I've been in the water quality is poor, the bottom is slimy and it messes with my skin/hair. I'm a chlorine fan and find it more sanitary as well. Some people react poorly to chlorine, my skin and hair feel great afterwards though. I know a lot of people that went to saltwater and it caused issues with corrosion... many pool installers do not recommend salt (due to warranty) issues anymore. I think you should research online and also weigh.... how it affects you body (chlorine vs. salt), if it will be hard on your pool equipment (corrosion) and how much traffic your pool with have. If it's simply personal use of under 10 people, salt should be fine. If you have a lot of people going through the pool, you should definately be chlorinating. Read this page... it really is a personal preference... http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_the_advantages_and_disadvantages...
