Texas/New Mexico Stateline | Going to the cattle auction and going to Dairy Queen in Portales, NM when I was probably 3-4 yrs old is probably about the earliest I can remember.
Getting my little finger smashed in the tractor door during cotton harvest. I think it was a 1070 Case with a Hesston tractor mounted cotton stripper, and my finger nail fell off that following Christmas. I would have just turned 4 yrs old then.
I also remember riding in a 1175 Case and taking a pillow so I could lay on the ledge behind the seat and take a nap. Looking in that tractor now it is hard to believe I could stretch out and sleep there!
It all happened the same couple years and I am not sure how old I was for sure. |
