Subject: RE: small 4wd vs mfwd for pulling planter

West Union, Illinois

We traded a 9230 4wd and 7210 2wd for a 275 Magnum MFWD.  It's hard to compare fairly because they are a couple generations apart. But I don't think you'll be disappointed with a 9230. Everyone who drove it came back smiling.  It was just fun to drive.

I'd go with a 9230 over a 9130. The 9130 is basically the same EXCEPT when you stop youhave to go through all the gears to get back to speed.  The 9230 has a button on top of the shift lever to let you jump a few gears.

We were pulling our 30 ft 5500 drill with the 7120.  It was OK most of the time but generally the tractor was at capacity.  Son in law said "Would it be OK if I tried the 9230 on the drill?"  We never hooked the 7120 to it again. I think if I were you I'd look seriously at a little 4wd.
