Western Nebraska | When the cowboys and settlers were traveling across the country, before settlement. Where did the edible beans come from that they ate? Mexico? Grown back East?
It seems like they must've been a staple on the trail, easy to store and travel with, but where were they grown?
Wonder what kind of recipe's were used to make them edible. Must not have taken time to soak overnight?
It's got me wondering.
Anybody got any ideas?
