Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | I can't really add much to the excellent suggestions already posted. The one thing that I'd maybe emphasize is whatever it takes to keep their home functional.......chores and needed field work of course, but depending on your area and the types of people living in the area, try to be sure that the house is watched. There are low-lifes that would in a heart-beat take advantage of the situation to clean out the house. Most small communities, the word of a sick family member travels like wildfire. It only takes one of these idiots to get the word and there're issues. Whether they have an available friend/family member who could stay at the house each night, someone who can be in and out at irregular times, whatever it takes. Their stress level is already over the top; the last thing they need is the safety of their home violated.
They will be in our prayers as the little one is cared for. |
