SW Saskatchewan
If you want badlands, head north of Havre on the Willow Creek road and cross into Canada about 35 miles north of Havre, travel 12 miles more north and take a right on a graded dirt trail (correction line road) through to Frontier Sask, you will get to Sask 18 eventually and visit the Grasslands National Park at Val Marie, 100 or so miles further east will take you to Big Muddy country around Ogema and you will be able to take a tour of the caves that rustlers and train robbers holed up in in the late nineteenth century. At Regway on Sk 6 you can turn south through Plentywood MT and end up in Ed Boyson Country.

Or , you can head east of Havre and enjoy the great flat lands along highway 2 all the way to Chicago! Though the best way to do that is to take the Amtrac "Empire Builder" from Chicago to Seattle and back.

You are visiting God's Country, savor every last minute no matter what road you take home.
