Today is ANZAC Day down under. In a few hours, as dawn approaches, veterans will observe a few minutes of silence and reflection during the "stand to".
In another time, during an unpopular war, I consider myself to have had the high privilege of serving with an ANZAC platoon attached to our rifle company for a short time. If a finer example of a fighting force exists, I'm at a loss to think of one. So I'd like to add my thanks to all of those from down under.

Pretty much sums up the Gallipoli operation of the campaign in the Dardanelles. Many lessons to be learned from a closer study of that if you're so inclined.
