All 8000s (maybe not the lastest Rs) need the oil to come back either through the remote or the return port(s). A case drain should flow very little oil. If your motors have the 3rd line, then those should go to the case drain and they should not cause codes to come up. If most of your oil is coming back through your case drain instead of the return line, then the motor is no good either.
