I would try very hard to make it work before I would consider divorce.  Doing that just might inspire her to do the same.

I have read that the majority of divorced couples regret giving up too soon and that a year later the majority claim they wouldn't do it again if given the choice.

There is a purpose for divorce but most divorces probably are for convience rather than necessity.  I would lean on the advice of those that avoided it before leaning on the advice of those that divorced.  Go slowly, very slowly.
