Subject: Another row cleaner question (Dawn) for a 1760 planter

Mid-Michigan
Everyone who answered my posts about row cleaners on a 1760 JD seemed to lean toward Dawn. I called the company yesterday basically to make sure everything would fit on my planter and who a dealer was here in Michigan.

I told the salesman that I wanted the floaters (based on what people seem to like here on this site). The salesman asked me if this was in a no-till situation and I said no. He told me that he highly recommend that I not buy floaters as they just move too much dirt in a till situation. He told me that I should get the screw adjustable and just tickle the ground and move stuff away from my gauge wheels. He said this was my best choice. I have a flex planter also (this must help with fixed trash wheels).

Also, he didn't have a dealer close by so he said that he could ship direct to me. Can any of you guys who have bought these and used them on a 1760 tell me if I am barking up the right tree? And, do you remember what you paid per row?
