Subject: Result of the John Deere 2310 FF

Nebraska
We had the 27' FF brought out on Monday. We took it to an irrigated corn field that was disk last fall and then we applied anhydrous a couple weeks ago. After getting it level (it was pitched back so far the disk blades were barely touch even at the deepest setting) it worked pretty darn good. We couldn't run to deep because then it started plowing and forming ridges. We were only in a few inches. The 8300 dyno at 245HP didn't even know it was back there. Ran in 11th gear at 7-7.2MPH. Field came out really mellow and ready to plant come Monday.

We then took it to untouched bean stubble. More good results.

Then we took it to standing corn stalks, never been touched. The results were mediocre. We ran it a little deeper. Still a lot of long corn stalks and not getting chopped up enough. It would ideal if John Deere removed a row of shovels and added another set of disc blades. Then you would have a complete disc in front and two or three rows of shovels and then the harrow.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way to attach a vertical tillage attachment like the CaseIH 340 Turbo Vertical Tillage has? Even one set of blades. We had a Landoll 1700 a few year back that had the cutting blades in front that worked good. Something like that to add to the 2310?

We are hoping to get rid of the Case Disk and Field Cultivator and just have the field finisher
Thanks
