| here is my 2 cents worth.
1. Quota in many cases is no longer used for it's original mandate, so it become out of context as it has been for many years.
2. It is hard for a young guy to start out in the poultry and dairy industry and pull a small profit due to quota prices, I am all for "free enteriprize" which quota is not. Not mention these new entrant programs are a joke, not enough KG for a full time farm and little chance for major expansion due to price capping program.
3. Quota has created a two tier farm system.
As far quota disappearing, I think we can cope but with some adjusting, even though the big guys say they can do without quota they will have to give up a few luxuries. | |
