I have never heard of these balls. I use to make my own laundry soap and now use Norwex, it has no fillers and is fragrance free. I use 1 - 2 tsp per load in my front load washer which is about 10 cents a load. If I have extremely dirty clothes I will add a little bit of oxy clean as a booster.
