is there a place to check codes besides the dash? When my 9370 kicks out it usually has a E: 61 or 62 showing. IIRC it is the second coil up on the transmission. I've had to take them off before and tap them, but mine doesn't have the voltage drop. Is the remote regulator "thingy" for the alternator causing trouble somehow? That shouldn't show up until the batteries go dead or overcharge. Shorted out wire or coil pack would be a guess, there must be a way to check them with a voltmeter?

edit: been trying to remember how the shop told me to check the coils, is it check with a screwdriver for magnetism, or you could try switching a couple of coils around, that was one thing I was told.

I don't know of any place to check for codes other than the dash.

Will try swapping coils first thing Monday and see what that gets us.

Batteries will still have a good charge Monday I bet. They have been staying up and it's been cranking after sitting a day or few days.

Thanks for all the ideas.
