Northern ill | I have never paid an annual fee to have a usdot number. The us stands for united states. Its a federal identification number. Similar to a federal tax id number. Illinois uses this number to identify carriers. As does iowa, indiana, missouri etc. if you have a usdot number you do have to update your information every two years, but there is no fee involved. There are however other fees paid to the state to be a carrier which is what you are if you haul grain on the highway. | |
