Pat Robertson, the televangelist, said that Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast because Ellen DeGeneres performed at one of the casinos there. His claim seemed to overlook the fact that the geological record shows the Gulf Coast has been hit by monster storms on a somewhat periodic basis going back to before there were inhabitants there of any kind, much less slot machines. I was still cleaning up tree limbs from Katrina when I read that piece of reverse prophecy. Kind of disgusting. At the risk of this digressing into a Boiler Room thread, I read a report that God spake unto Pat with predictions about who the Republican nominee would be, although he - Pat - declined to reveal the name.
