Prot on the calves? anywhere from 11 to 14% works.
Keep in mind the rations towards 14% grow more frame, and those will not cap out and get fleshy as easy as the low pro fed calves.
In general Gary, your right.
Corn co products can be a suckers game, many times work out to cost WAY more than simply feeding strait corn, wheat whatever.
