Northwest iowa | I have not been following this story, and you very likely know more about raising calves than I ever will, but this sounds remarkably like what I saw in dairy calves back in the late 80s and early 90s where I worked at that time. Those calves had Cryposporidium. Death loss was high. Calf raising was frustrating to say the least. I can't remember what treatment worked as it was too long ago but if you have not explored crypto as a possibility it sure wouldn't hurt. Oddly enough my daughter was hospitolized with it for three days when she was five about four years ago. Her diagnosis was only due to a very alert lab person who ran a test that the docs didn't even call for. Pretty scary for a while. | |
