Kaukauna WI | Had a calf born overnite, the only 3 hours that nobody is around, so I don't know how difficult a birth it was, but the calf was up and running around, so the worker tied it up. When I first saw it, I thought it was a little early, and I looked it up and it is a good two weeks early.
The problem is, it bellers a lot, and breathes rapidly. The gums are very dark red, and her nose is a little blue. Ears are warm and she looks perky, but just struggles to breathe. Is able to breathe without her mouth open.
She doesn't beller nearly as much when she is standing than when she is lying down. She appears to kick at her gut (uncomfortable) when lying down. If I put her frog-legged, she doesn't beller as much either.
I did give 1cc dex and 1cc banamine.
Any other ideas? | |
