Quincy, IL | Here are my 2011 electric bills by month. Sorry i don't have the kw broke down per month but total for the year was 65,311 (kw). The summer months can be pretty salty if you have warm nights and big hogs because the barn stays in "full tunnel" almost 24/7. You do save a lot on heat though as the other guy said. I would think they are quite a bit cheaper to build as well with 1 less wall and 1 big roof vs 2 small ones. I also like it when loading out you can run a handful of pigs from one side or the other to finish out a load and not have to move the truck. Another nice little bonus is choring 1 barn vs. 2. I have a small office attached with a washer/dryer/shower and a place for meds and the controllers. I would build another double-wide if i were doing it over. Good luck.
