Subject: Sick pigs.

Kind of sounds like Salmonella to me. If it is we usually treat it with Denegaurd and asprin in the water. It will help but Salmonella is tough to recover from. The best treatment is prevention. Boelinger Ingelheim (sp) makes a very good oral vaccine for Salmonella. Every pig that enters this operation gets it the day after arrival.

The other thought was worms but you seem pretty sure its not so I would be leaning towards Salmonella.

Did the vet post any of the dead pigs and culture gut material? If so he should be able to do a sensitivity test to tell what will kill whatever grows.

What day and time is the Junior show? I think I will be at the expo either on Thurs or Fri.
