Subject: JD 4430.... oil coming up the steering column

Getting some seepage traveling up the steering column... and it drips out just under the steering wheel. Apparently, I got a bad seal, and the oil is filling up the tube.
Another issue which may be related: the return line that goes from the bottom of the power steering box, and goes through the firewall, and then runs to the steering proportioning 'box' on the upper firewall..... seems like it's always needing replaced/tightened. I replaced it with a 3/8ths fuel line a few years back, and when engine is running, it's pretty ballooned out. too much pressure?? (as in worn steering motor)... original JD line is supposed to be that plastic sheathed rubber line so it's a precut piece, a tad too short IMO.... and every time I 'tilt' the wheel to get in the cab... it pulls off it off the nipple.
any info is appreciated! Thanks..
