East Central, Nebraska
The gleaner will do circles around a 9600 deere, and this is coming from a guy that owns a 50 series deere combine and owned a 9500 before that. I would not worry about the spreader as long as the chopper is working correctly. That is a big diffrence you will see between the deere and the gleaner, the rotor tears apart the trash where deeres walker does not. I would also reccomend you be careful concerning the air cooled engine. Gleaners dont bring very good money on auctions. I know my local dealer had a couple combines on auctiontime.com and they didnt bring very good money. I never asked him how he thought they sold because one of them was our old machine but he had to be sick. If I was in your situation I would check out the auctions and wait for a 62 or 72 with a cummins motor.
