Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | Yes it is very possible. We have real soft, wet lakebottom muck. Not sure it would work as well in dry sand. Water table is at 3-4' here, so keeping water out of the hole is biggest problem.
Push a small pipe first, then pull progressively larger, short sections of hollow, pipe through the hole with a cable. Weld a web into the middle of a pipe so you can pull it with a cable from the inside. You'll want to push and pull your big pipe through. I'd suggest the biggest dozer you can find.
Still, I'd be very tempted to have everything ready and just dig through the road. Much faster. All the Road Department here does is bring out some cones and give you a hard time about it. I have my own cones and don't need the attitude. Even if it is a paved road, hot patch is really pretty cheap. Oil a blade down to smooth it up with and go for it. | |
