You definitely need a vacation from normal life.  It is amazing what getting out of routine will do for all three of you, not to mention the memories!  It sounds like your wife would be most comfortable to take your child with and at just over 2 years old, it will be great fun.  Others mentioned these, but as a mom of two young kids I would say they are all child friendly:  Wisconsin Dells (most everything is indoor so can enjoy this time of year), Mall of America (has a water park hotel next door and also some rides and fun stuff for kiddo at Nickelodeon Universe), Omaha Zoo, there are tons of things to do in Colorado but might not be as ideal with a young one this time of year (keep Breckenridge area in mind for summer - lots of family fun). 

Please convince your wife that this is good for all of you, I speak from a mom point of view!
