We got about an inch and a halfof snow this morning, came pretty much straight down.    One thing this snow revealed is just how many spots of open water we have on our lakes.  I drove 215 miles today on the mail route and commute and I'd say 1/4 of all the larger lakes and sloughs had either small spots of open water or rotten ice that let water ooze through.

I saw on a different site just now that a father and his 5 year old son went through the ice on an ATV in Minnesota.  A similar incident happened yesterday.  In both cases everyone is OK, but I can't believe anyone would even think of venturing out on ice any more.  This little bit of snow confirmed how dangerous it is by showing the spots.

We got to 35 today, so no more snow.  Stay safe.

Got that right . . . . 10-12 inch ice and 50ft away it's only 3 inces thick . . . . . Need some cold. Next week it's supposed to hit 40 by the weekend again . . .. ..
