Subject: Slugs, IN SW MN??

I had 2 cases of slugs in planted soybean fields reported in SW MN. I thought these things were confined to ohio and indiana???No till fields were the ground was wet on sidehills. I have never seen these things before and never had anyone diagnose them to my knowledge. When the dealer first called me, I thought seed corn maggots or wireworms which there has been problems before in alfalfa to soybeans or manured ground to soybeans, but SLUGS???Ed did you transport these things last summer on your vacation and drop them off here???:)
Farmer replanted the bad spots and I recommended putting kernal guard supreme on the seed to prevent another attack. What do you guys do out east to prevent or take care of these little voracious appetite crittters??
