This is on pivot irrigated ground that because of hail, which I told the LL about, hasn't made that good of crops lately, but always enough to not get any crop ins. My brother said to be sure the LL was aware of this and I told him I would but it wouldn't make any dif. Well, it didn't. Had to go up on the guarantee per acre and offer a bonus depending on CBOT price at certain times during the year. I have never minded paying a bonus IF we have a good crop w/good prices, but having to pay the bonus up front bothers me. This LL doesn't help on any sprinkler or underground pipe/wire upkeep. To big of block of ground to let go, so finally got him to compromise a little. Wanted to go with a cropshare which I showed him on paper would be more money than this lease would pay on good years, which we have had quite a few good years on this place, but was more interested in cash than trying to be fair.
